Giving back is part of our DNA here at SMS. As we have been blessed with good fortune and success, we make sure we pay that forward in our community. Here are a few of the non-profit charities we support throughout the year.
American Cancer Society
Our President, Steve Lulias, has been riding in American Cancer Society’s Bridge to the Beach Bike-a-Thon from Hammonton to Atlantic City for several years.
The ACS is on mission to free the world from cancer. Steve supports that mission in honor of loved ones who have battled cancer.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society
As biking is both a stress reliever and an energetic fundraising event, Steve also participates in National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is part of their movement to defeat MS. The Society is a gathering place for people with MS, their families and loved ones, healthcare providers, volunteers, donors, fundraisers, advocates, community leaders who seek to rid the world of MS.
Food Bank of SJ
SMS supports the Food Bank of South Jersey to provide much needed food to families throughout the region. The Food Bank distributed 17.9 million pounds of food in 2021. SMS is proud to be affiliated with their mission.
American Red Cross
There continues to be an urgent need for blood donations throughout the country. It is the reason why Steve and the SMS staff has participated in local blood drives for more than 10 years.
The Red Cross works to prevent as well as alleviate suffering that people face during emergencies and beyond. Blood drives are vital to this mission.
